The Foundation is a non-profit non-government entity (IRC § 501(c)(3) public charity) apart from and independent of the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs.  Donations and event proceeds go directly to the Foundation, not to or through any state or other government entity and are used to support the Cemetery and other worthy veterans programs.
