Examples of activities undertaken by the Foundation include:
- need based financial assistance to defray costs to the veteran associated with interment or inurnment at the cemetery (which are not fully covered by the Veterans Administration);
- funded the purchase of computers for Veterans Assistance and Service Office Programs conducted at a local VSO chapter facility;
- funded supplemental (e.g., logistical) costs incurred to send disabled veterans to a rehabilitative retreat (i.e., over and above the substantial costs covered by the sponsoring VSO);
- provided a committal table used during cremation inurnment ceremonies at the cemetery;
- accepted a portable battlefield monument (the “Battlefield Cross”) for display during interment ceremonies;
- partially defrays the costs of volunteer uniformed honor guards who render military honors during funeral ceremonies at the cemetery;
- provides American flags, banners and floral displays which, on commemorative occasions, line the boulevard leading into the cemetery;
- schedules and conducts events at which local residents (particularly local youth groups) are invited to help in decorating the gravesites during the holidays;
- directs and participates in a commemorative public event at the Cemetery each year on Memorial Day to honor those who have given their lives while serving in the armed forces of the United States.
